GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction and partnership of the Corporate Finance Vice President develop and oversee the implementation and performance of an agency-wide financial strategy that enables short term and long-term strategic objectives. The agency’s strategic focus is to operate its assets excellently within their useful life, increase our value and support to our members, while we also innovate and ensure business excellence. Our long-term strategic goals require us to deliver additional nuclear generation and increase our delivery of clean energy services requiring capital investment and prudent spending. Excellence in performance ensures we are safe, reliable, predictable, cost effective and performing at the highest levels of industry performance.

This position will also lead or perform special cross-agency projects, initiatives, or inquiries focused on implementation of the financial strategy. This is an expert level position requiring leadership, influence, complex problem solving, innovative thinking, and proven sustainable results delivery.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop, implement, and oversee performance of an agency-wide financial strategy.

  • Understand and align on agency strategy.

  • Understand agency governance, applicable laws, and other constraints.

  • Design, develop, and prioritize a financial strategy with financial goals, tactics, and mitigations.

  • Develop, test, and evaluate scenarios.

  • Challenge existing practices and plans.

  • Work with owners to implement financial strategy actions.

  • Implement key performance and risk indicators demonstrating plan performance and susceptibility to risk.

  • Communicate and influence others.

  • Develop internal and external stakeholder reporting.

  • Build cross-functional teams and drive initiatives or special assignments supporting financial strategy.

  • Develop or provide training around new methodologies and/or processes as needed.

  • Ensuring effective change management and sustainability.

Lead a Corporate Finance Transformation Plan with one or more direct reports and CF Management team focused on establishing a scalable, measurable, and continuously improving CF organization with an emphasis on things like automation, integration, upskilling, enabled ownership, determining value, risk management, and advanced analytics.

Provide oversight and intrusive challenge of related delivery functions ensuring design and operating effectiveness in supporting the financial strategy. Maintain a focus on excellence, standards, and early signs of degrading standards or changes in environmental circumstances.

  • Benchmark and conduct standards review.

  • Ensure agency investments are determined using prudent prioritization practices, resource evaluations, and risk informed return on capital calculations.

  • Ensure financial management processes and tools are adequate, operating effectively and producing effective short term and long-term results.

  • Coach process and control owners to reinforce excellent practices and behaviors.

  • Coach process and control owners to eliminate ineffective practices and behaviors.

  • Communicate results to CFO and others as requested using varied methods such as reports, presentations, discussions.

Other as requested. May be requested to support agency emergency response organization and/or outage activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s level education with a technical emphasis in accounting, finance, economics, business operations/industrial management, data analytics, or other related technical degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Twenty or more years of progressive finance leadership experience delivering proven strategic results focused on growth, business operational excellence, and sustained financial competitiveness.

  • Implementing proficient and scalable business processes with effective internal controls and measurable results.

  • Implementing state, federal, and other requirements.

  • Building high functioning teams, fostering a collaborative and positive workplace where teams can learn, grow, and contribute.

  • Providing and asking for feedback, service to others, and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Effectively working across workgroups and with all levels in the organization up to and including the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Boards, and external Stakeholders.

  • Driving results, building alignment, and where needed resolving issues through positive leadership and collaboration with others.

This position is open until filled.

Pay Range:

Salary: $143,226 - $214,838

Midpoint: $179,032

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
