GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs basic support work for Service Persons on complete operation, surveillance, major repair, and maintenance to buildings, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. Per engineering direction performs major project and system modifications to Energy Northwest office complexes, shops, warehouses, mobile buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment, both leased and owned; interfaces with engineering, management, and technical employees, and works independently. Functions within this position include: HVAC Technician, Locksmith, Chemical Operator, Fire Systems Operator, Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Automotive Mechanic, and Heavy Equipment Operator.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
All positions:
-Must maintain up-to-date Facilities & Commercial Engineering Services logs.
-May be temporarily assigned to another plant or complex outside of their normal geographic area for periods up to thirty days, or for the duration of an outage, not to exceed sixty days.
-Must perform other tasks as required including normal functions of Service Person I and II.
-Must meet and maintain protected area unescorted access.
-Must maintain valid Washington State driver’s license. May be required to get and maintain a valid Washington State Class A, B, or C Commercial Driver’s License with special endorsements for tanker, hazardous materials, and air brakes.
-Must enter and satisfactorily progress within Energy Northwest Facilities & Commercial Engineering Services training program as required.
-Physically capable of performing manual work consisting of repeated lifting, climbing, pulling, hand digging, etc.
Independently perform work in one or more of the following disciplines:
HVAC Technician: Perform operation, maintenance and repair of all types/brands of HVAC equipment such as refrigeration units, drinking fountains, and HVAC systems from light residential to 300-ton sizes, air and water-cooled.
Locksmith: Control and perform maintenance and repair of doors, locks, and windows.
Chemical Operator: Perform roads, grounds, and building work requiring the use of pesticides, herbicides, paints, and other chemicals.
Fire Systems Operator: Perform operation, maintenance, testing, and repair to various building fire protection systems.
Electrician: Perform operation, maintenance, and repair to electrical distribution systems including substation (approximate size is 13.8 KV), interrupted power systems, diesel and electrical generators.
Plumber: Perform maintenance and installation of plumbing fixtures, sewer and potable water systems.
Carpenter: Performs repair and construction of walls, mud, tape, texture and paint including repair of cabinets.
Automotive Mechanic: Diagnose and complete repairs of vehicles, heavy equipment and generators.
Heavy Equipment Operator: Ability to operate heavy-duty equipment, including backhoe, road grader, loader, large trucks, boom truck, etc.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Requires HS Diploma or GED and four years of applicable technical maintenance pertaining to general commercial building maintenance and/or grounds care, industrial building maintenance repairs and /or modifications or equivalent related experience achieved through successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship program;
OR Two years of related experience and an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university or two-year trade school or equivalent such as military training.
Must maintain valid state driver’s license.
Requires experience in one or more of the following areas: Plumber, Carpenter, Heavy Equipment Operator, HVAC technician, Locksmith, Chemical Operator, Fire Systems Operator, or Electrical Technician.
Pay Range:
This is a bargaining unit and the pay is: $45.69.
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
